The Sales & Marketing Council of the Northeast Florida Builders Association came through in a big way for The ARC in their annual Builders Care workday by flooding their new home with volunteers. There was interior painting, yard work and site preparation to do before The ARC moved into the building. Builders Care wants to give a big thanks to Wells Fargo and Standard Pacific Homes for all of their hard work.

Many companies also donated labor and material to The ARC project and really without them Builders Care could not make this happen. The Kitchen and Design Center donated and installed the cabinets and countertops. Gator Drywall donated the drywall material through their supplier. Leigh Broward Construction dropped off the framing material and even had one of their employees work at the site. American Electrical provided and installed new electric wiring throughout the whole building. Barry Parker Plumbing also donated materials and provided labor to this special project. United Rental provided all the equipment for demolition. Lumber Unlimited dropped off the finish carpentry materials.

Builders Care added a warming center, a laundry room, two handicapped accessible bathrooms, two regular bathrooms and updated every room in the building.

The ARC Beaches Extension serves 25 clients. Extensive changes to the building were required in order to comply with the American Disability Act for these precious and sometimes voiceless souls. If Builders Care did not step up to the plate, the clients of The ARC would have had to stay at home. This would have created issues for their family members who work and want the best for their loved ones.

You can see how special these adults with developmentally disabilities are. Their facial expressions tell it all. They are happy being at The ARC. They are more productive and most of them are able to acquire new skills.
