Builders
Care Rebuilds a Family's Home in just Ten Days |
|

The Goodalls are a family of eight. Kenny and Karen have
six children, Kollin, 14, Kaley, 13, Konner, 7, Kaleb, 6,
Kolten, 2, and Kendal, 1. Kenny was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's
disease two years ago. He cannot walk or talk. The disease
has rapidly progressed and Builders Care wants to make sure
Kenny's heart is at peace.
"This
is the biggest and best project Builders Care has ever worked
on," said Pastor Chris Simons, director of operations
for NEFBA Builders Care.
The
Goodalls have a strong faith and this has brought many supporters
from their church, Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church,
and community to come together and reach out a helping hand
to this extraordinary family where it is needed. All six
children will eventually be without a father and will only
have memories to hang onto as they grow up. It's important
for all the builders and subcontractors involved that the
Goodall's home can support a growing family without a Father.
Also, it is so important to shine some light about what
Lou Gehrig's disease is and how it can emotionally affect
a family.
Everyone
knows that times in the construction industry are tough
because of market conditions. However, this is not stopping
the generosity that many builders and subcontractors have. ICI Homes Division President Don Wilford and his trade partners
have teamed up with Builders Care and will rebuild the Goodall's
home in just 10 days.
They will turn the existing three-bedroom, two-bath home
into a five-bedroom, three-bath home. In addition, Builders
Care and ICI Homes will build a new family room, update
the entire existing house with new electric, a newer energy-efficient
air-conditioning system, new flooring and a study center
for the children.
